Cory Monteith “Glee star” , 31, passed away on July 13, 2013 at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in downtown Vancouver. Word started to spread on Twitter at roughly 1 a.m. ET that the Glee star had died after an apparent drug overdose. CTV British Columbia, a neighborhood news station based in Vancouver, appeared to report the news.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday,” Vancouver Acting Police Chief Doug LePard said. “The coroner will be determining the next steps with respect to establishing cause of death, but all indications are that there was no foul play.
About His Early Life
Born on May 11, 1982, in Calgary, Canada, actor Cory Monteith rose to fame as a cast member from the hit television musical Glee. His parents split up when he was seven, and he and his older brother had been raised by their mother in Victoria. Monteith, a bright student early on, lost his way by his early teens. He began missing school to get drunk and do drugs.
At 16, Monteith officially gave up on his education following attending 12 various schools. He worked numerous odd jobs while performing in various bands as a drummer. By age 19, Monteith’s substance abuse issue had gotten so out of hand that his family members staged an intervention. He went into rehab for therapy, but he fell back into his old habits after leaving the facility. It was only after obtaining caught stealing cash from a family members member that Monteith decided to turn his life around.
The actor shot to fame when Glee launched in 2009, playing lead hunk and football player-turned-warbler Finn Hudson. Monteith told Parade magazine in 2011 that he was “out of control” as a teen. He revealed that at age 13, he drank, smoked pot and skipped college in Victoria, British Columbia, right after his parents divorced. By 16, he stated, his drug use had escalated. He was “doing something and everything, as significantly as you possibly can.” At 19, he entered rehab for the very first time.
Relationship with Lea Michele
Monteith had been dating Michele for much more than a year. The two looked satisfied collectively at the June gala, and Michele had issued a statement of support to People when he entered rehab in April.
